President’s Report
- Food Forest Edging: Completed. Forest looks great.
- Compost Bins: Numbers capped for now – sufficient capacity.1 functioning compost bay, and all Compost bins have been taken out of the food forest and labeled with whether they are full or not.
- Grant Allocations: Brief description of how Grants are expected to be used for the items that we have requested, and cannot be used for operational expenses.
- Committee Nominations: Call-out emailed to members. Please nominate for the exec team committee.
- Garden Beds: 4x40cm and 4x80cm ordered – 2 of each to be leased.
- Soil & Mulch: Soil and Mulch ordered and delivered; more soil has been ordered. Mulch order still pending. Tegan added to her to do list
- Donations: Gazebo donated by Barb Cooper. Mower and whipper snipper donated by Tegan and Jon (Ryobi batteries needed – please bring your personal one from home in the meantime).
- Men’s Club Priorities: Task prioritisation deferred to a future meeting.
- Irrigation System: Bore pump too small for irrigation system; need larger system and funding for it – to be discussed with Jim.
- Planning Group: Kath and others to suggest planting areas and what to plant and what would work best in which conditions (noting wet, muddy conditions).
- Bunnings Sponsorship: Revisit in August. Sponsorship form ready.
- Grants: Approval from SCC for $3000 (only) of major grant. We were unsuccessful in the Gambling grant
- Community Engagement:
- Christmas Tree display at the Strand – opportunity to participate
- Picnic on Kings (July) Curate Plate – consider presenting composting or garden talks (Jo to be contacted)
- Coconut coir pots under discussion
