The Golden Beach Community Garden is an incorporated, not-for-profit community garden that is being established on a site kindly granted by the Sunshine Coast Council at 195 Westminster Avenue, Golden Beach.
The vision is for the Golden Beach Community Garden to be a vibrant hub for gardening, community building, and education, anchored in sustainability. It will serve as a welcoming space where community members can come together to grow fresh, healthy food, learn new
skills, and build strong, lasting friendships.
We aim to create a resource that not only benefits residents but also enhances the broader Caloundra community by promoting environmental stewardship and sustainable living practices.
- Community Connection: Foster a sense of community by providing a space where people can come together, grow food, learn skills, and build friendships through gardening.
- Resource for All: Serve as a resource for the entire Caloundra community, not just Golden Beach residents, by offering educational opportunities and promoting sustainable practices.
- Inclusivity: Ensure that the garden is designed and developed to be inclusive and accessible to people of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds.
- Environmental Sustainability: Commit to organic gardening practices and permaculture principles to create an environmentally sustainable space that contributes to environmental education.
- Health and Wellbeing: Promote healthy and active lifestyles for the local community by encouraging participation in gardening and outdoor activities.
- Partnerships: Collaborate with local businesses, community organisations, and educational institutions to enhance the operations and impact of the garden.
